"AIR-THRUST" Pneumatic Flooring System - the first and original free floating resilient timber sports floor in Malaysia. Originating from USA, this unique floor system was first introduced to Malaysia in mid 1980’s to replace the hard parquet on screed and conventional strip flooring. The Air-Thrust system features a system of aircell cushioning pads to cater for various types of sports activities. These are installed under a panel or batten system with timber parquetry or strips as its surface finish. The Air-Thrust system has superb shock absorbing and cushioning properties which assures underfoot comfort and significantly reduces muscle strain and sport injuries caused by jarring impact.


Air-Thrust Pads


The original patented Air-Thrust pads are uniquely formed with alternating vertical air cells of various thicknesses. When the pads are compressed, the air encapsulated within the air cells is expelled through ventilation voids at the perimeter of the floor. The controlled expulsion of air together with the construction system provides the critical shock absorbing and cushioning effect that reduces sport injuries and make Air-Thrust floors a superior and preferred playing surface.

The original AIR-THRUST pad is patented, and is accredited by World Squash Federation (WSF). Constructed of alternating vertical air cells, and composed of high quality genuine rubber with a durameter (hardness) requirement of 48+5. Provides excellent resilience, recovery and fatigue reduction properties as well as inhibits sound transmission.

The ideal pad size for both panel and sleeper system applications. Constructed of alternating vertical air cells, 56mm wide x 75mm long and either 10mm, 16mm or 19mm thick with stapling lips on each end. Composed of high quality rubber with superb load deflection which increases with pad thickness allowing selection of the size most suitable to the application. Will provide long term stability and reliability.

This unique round tapered pad provides instant an response to any dynamic activity on the surface floor as the air that's compressed within each cell gives immediate return to the system thereby lessening chances of athletic related injuries.

The "AIR-THRUST" System

The "Air-Thrust" pads can be installed under a panel system of plywood base or the cushioned batten system of random length tongue and groove strip flooring over the battens to cater to different loading requirements and sports activities.

AIR-THRUST Panel System

Comprises of a 150um polyethylene vapour barrier over a screeded sub-floor over which is installed 2 layers of 12mm thick WBP plywood powernailed together. Air-Thrust pads are stapied to the underside of the first layer plywood at specified intervals. Timber in either parquentry or strip form is used as surface finish, glued and/or secret nailed to the top plywood base.

AIR-THRUST Batten System


Comprises of a 150um polyethylene vapour barrier laid over a screeded sub-floor over which the timber batten and tongue &groove strip is laid. Air-Thrust pads are stapled to the underside of the batten at specified intervals. 18mm thick tongue & groove strips are secret nailed at 45 angle at thetongue of each strip onto the batten.

Comprises of a 150um polyethylene vapour barrier laid over a screeded sub-floor over which the finish surface timber is laid over a 12mm thick WBP plywood supported by timber battens running at specified intervals underneath. The underside of the battens shall be stapled with Air-Thrust pads at specified intervals. The 12mm thick plywood backing are nailed into the battens creating a sub-floor backing over which the finished surface timber of either block parquetry or strip is laid.
